DSCLT Expands German Language & Cultural Studies with New German Debate Club

The German School of Charlotte (DSCLT) is proud to launch a German Debate Club at the North Academy of World Languages (NAWL) in Huntersville, North Carolina. This new program gives students the opportunity to strengthen their German language skills through engaging debates while developing confidence in public speaking, critical thinking, and intercultural communication. The initiative reflects DSCLT's commitment to inspiring the next generation of globally minded German language learners.

DSC Expands Its Reach: German Youth Debate Club Launches at NAWL

The German School of Charlotte is proud to launch its German Youth Debate Club at the North Academy of World Languages (NAWL) in Huntersville—an exciting step in expanding our educational offerings across the greater Charlotte region and beyond.

DSC Board of Directors to Convene for January General Meeting

The Board of Directors of the German School of Charlotte (DSC) will meet this evening to review progress, align on priorities for the new school year, and address key governance and committee matters supporting the school’s continued growth and stability.

We are Open | Debate Club Cancelled for today!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
We would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the weather conditions for this weekend 24 Jan. Current forecasts indicate that the ice storm is not expected until Saturday evening.

Based on this information, school will be open today and will run as usual from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. However, the afternoon Debate Club has been canceled as a precautionary measure.

Your safety and well-being remain our top priority, and we will keep you updated as needed.

I am delighted to welcome both our new students and those returning for another exciting year. At DSC, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality German language education, including our prestigious German Language Diploma (C1), which opens doors to studying at German universities and enhances opportunities for our students worldwide.

We believe that parent involvement is essential to student success and are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where parents, teachers, and students work together to achieve academic excellence. Beyond language proficiency, we emphasize cultural awareness, helping students explore the richness and diversity of German culture. By understanding and respecting different cultural perspectives, we prepare our students to become informed, empathetic global citizens.

President's Message

As a parent of three sons who all attended the Deutsche Schule Charlotte, my connection to this school has only grown stronger over the years. Volunteering has always been a passion of mine, and the German community here truly feels like family. Now, as President of the Board of Directors, I am committed to ensuring the long-term success of DSC, so that other families can experience the same opportunities my sons had to immerse themselves in the German language and culture.

We at the DSC believe that learning a new language is a powerful experience that can open doors and broaden perspectives. This is why our school is dedicated to providing exceptional language education to students of all ages and backgrounds. With the dedication of our talented faculty, we are able to share the richness of German language and culture, fostering both personal growth and academic achievement.
